Consultation
At your initial visit to Kingsway Oral Surgery, our oral and maxillofacial surgeon will analyze your medical and dental history, any relevant medical images (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs) and perform a physical examination of your symptoms. Once the doctor has a thorough understanding of your situation, he will then make a diagnosis and clearly explain all potential treatment options, along with the risks and benefits of each.
Sometimes, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation, though patients with complex medical histories or treatment plans may require a secondary evaluation or referral to another medical or dental professional.
To help make your initial consultation a seamless and enjoyable experience, please come prepared with the following information:
- Your surgical referral note from your referring doctor or dentist
- Any medical images available (i.e. X-Rays, CT scans, MRIs)
- A list of the medications that you currently take
- Any allergies and medical conditions (i.e. Diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves or pacemakers, previous surgeries)
- Your medical or dental insurance policy number or plan card
Note that all patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at both the consultation and surgical procedure.
